Figure 1 Contrast-enhanced computed tomography coronal reformatted image in the portal vein phase showed a filling defect consistent with a clot in the ileocolic vein (arrow) associated with surrounding inflammation of fat up to the superior mesenteric vein.
Substantial appendiceal enlargement with inflammation indicative of acute appendicitis was observed (curve arrow). Moreover, enlarged lymph nodes within the mesentery was seen (arrowhead).
