Renal tissues from patients in control group 2 who underwent partial nephrectomy due to renal trauma (A) and patients in the hypertension group (B). General morphology of glomeruli from nephrectomized kidney was normal, and the capillary loops were smooth and plump (A). Under hypertensive conditions, the glomeruli showed severe atrophy, the capillary loops became severely wizened or obliterated, and Bowman’s capsule and the luminal space of tubules were wide open (B).
