Exogenous T and anabolic steroids negatively affect the HPG axis. SERMs such as CC stop the negative feedback of estrogen on the HPG axis. hCG stimulates Leydig cells. Aromatase inhibitors inhibit the conversion of T to E. LH: Luteinizing hormone; FSH: Follicle-stimulating hormone; AAS: Anabolic-Androgenic steroid; hCG: Human chorionic gonadotropin; GnRH: Gonadotropin-releasing hormone.
