Obesity leads to adipose tissue dysfunction and liver lipid deposit. Adipose tissue dysfunction contributes to adipocytokine secretion, inflammation, and oxidative stress, etc. These factors finally lead to insulin resistance. Liver lipid deposit is closely associated with (hepatic) insulin resistance.
