Gut homeostasis depends on the balance between the human genome, intestinal barrier, microbiota, nutrients, hormones, exogenous factors, which interact with each other. Intestinal, systemic and organ inflammation results from impaired homeostasis. Gut homeostasis also depends on gut motility, which is determined by genes and other factors.
