Time to recovery was defined as return to Child-Pugh class A and return of serum total bilirubin and albumin levels to < 2 mg/dL and > 2.8 mg/dL, respectively. It was compared between patients with serum preoperative type IV collagen 7S > 6 ng/mL (n = 51) and those with serum preoperative type IV collagen 7S ≤ 6 ng/mL (n = 107). The time to recovery was significantly shorter in patients with type IV collagen 7S level ≤ 6 ng/mL (all, P < 0.001; log-rank test). TB: Total bilirubin; Alb: Albumin.
