Clinical utility of a new endoscopic scoring system for Crohn’s disease

Sixty-two (83.8%) of 74 patients with small intestinal lesions which existed within 80 cm of the ileocecal valve on the proximal side were assessed by modified Simple Endoscopic Score for Crohn’s disease (mSES-CD), whereas 37 (50.0%) patients with small intestinal lesions were assessed by SES-CD. Only two patients had a small intestinal lesion more than 80 cm from the ileocecal valve on the proximal side but no lesions within 80 cm.
