Figure 5 Effects of dexamethasone on migration and invasion of colon cancer cells in hypoxia. A and B: Transwell migration assay in HCT116 (A) and HT29 (B) cells; C and D: Matrigel invasion assay in HCT116 (C) and HT29 (D) cells. Both cells treated with or without DEX and incubated for 24 (A, B) or 48 h (C, D) in normoxic or hypoxic conditions. Cells on the upper surface of the transwells stained with Hematoxylin and Eosin were counted under a light microscope. DEX repressed migration and invasion of HCT116 and HT29 cells under hypoxia. The error bar represents the standard deviation. aP < 0.05, bP < 0.01, and cP < 0.001 vs hypoxia-only groups. DEX: Dexamethasone.
