A: Receiver operating characteristic curves to assess hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with prognosis by the appropriate cutoff values of preoperative intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1); B: Two hundred and thirty-six cases of HCC patients were stratified according to portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT), tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage and distant metastasis (DMS), comparing the serum level of ICAM-1 in each subgroup. The percentage of high ICAM-1 patients with PVTT, TNM stage III-IV and with DMS are much higher than those without PVTT, TNM stage I-II and without DMS, respectively (P < 0.05).
