Data are the mean ± SD. There were no significant differences between the groups in any of the parameters measured. Lag time is the time from the start of infusion until the onset of acid-induced symptoms, intensity rate refers to the intensity of the symptoms (scored over the range 1-10), and the acid perfusion sensitivity score (APSS) was calculated as the product of intensity rate and lag time.
