Tumor budding denotes the presence of isolated single neoplastic cells or small clusters of cells scattered in the stromal compartment at the invasive tumor margin (A), although intra-tumoral budding is also reported. Tumor margin organized in larger tumor cell clusters (B) and a smooth infiltration tumor margin (C). Hematoxylin and eosin stain, objective magnification 20×.
