Figure 2 Corticotropin-releasing factor expression determined by comparative CT method.
JAWSII cells were treated with the indicated bacteria for 2 h. After treatment, total RNA was isolated from cells. CT value reflects the polymerse chain reaction cycle number for which the amount of amplified target reached a fixed threshold. Data represent the mean ± SEM of 4 independent experiments. Statistical analysis was carried out using analysis of variance and Fisher's protected least significant difference. 1Significantly higher than other indicated bacteria [P < 0.0001 vs Clostridium clostrodiiforme (C. clostridioforme), P < 0.0018 vs Bacteroides vulgatus, P < 0.006 vs Escherichia coli]. 2significantly higher than C. clostridioforme (P = 0.0398). CRF: Corticotropin-releasing factor; C. clostrodiiforme: Clostridium clostrodiiforme; B. vulgatus: Bacteroides vulgatus; E. coli: Escherichia coli; F. varium: Fusobacterium varium.
