Mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) is expressed in mmHg, and blood flow (LDF) and vascular resistance (R) in percent of the values of the control period at time-points 5-10 min. The mucosa was exposed to lidocaine for 10 min before the control period started, and then to lidocaine with or without HPE for 40 min. Values are mean ± SE. aP < 0.05 compared with the control period in control animals, cP < 0.05 compared with control period in HPE-treated animals.
