Relatively well documented pancreatic islets and tightly arranged islet cells were observed in normal rats. Severe necrosis and mild atrophy of islets were found in diabetic rats, which were improved after treatment with Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang. Stained sections showing islet morphology in sections stained with HE. The left region: Low-power magnifcation view; Middle region: Middle-power magnifcation view; Right region: High-power magnifcation view.
