A: Adiponectin in the liver of standard chow (SC) and high fat diet (HF) animals. Concentration of adiponectin is ng per μg liver tissue; B: Adiponectin mRNA in the liver of rats kept on a standard chow (SC) or a high fat diet (HF). Fat tissue was analysed as a positive control; C: Primary hepatocytes were incubated with 5, 10 or 20 mg/L adiponectin for 24 h and adiponectin was determined in the cell lysates; D: Total systemic and hepatic adiponectin was calculated.
