Cirrhotic rats with ascites were repeatedly injected either vehicle or anti-adrenomedullin (anti-AM) antibody [500 mg/(kg∙times)] via tail vein on the day of occurrence of ascites, 3 and 6 d after. Hemodynamic study was performed on the next day of the final injection. Values are presented as mean ± SE of 8 separate experiments. The contraction of aortic rings to phenylephrine was evaluated in the presence of vehicle or anti-AM antibody. Values are presented as mean ± SE of 8 rings.
