Figure 2 It is acknowledged that there exist two HCC recur-ring mechanisms of intrahepatic metastasis through portal venous system and multicentric occurrence from cirrhotic nodules.
These extrahepatic cells homing into liver may be a new mechanism after liver transplantation. Likewise, it impli-cates that this mechanism is responsible for HCC recurrence after hepatectomy.
